The Volunteers and Travelers Project is a project that combines volunteering in schools in various villages and a trip around the wonderful Africa. If there is anything that can make us truly happy – it is giving, giving out of love and creating value. A project for volunteers and travelers combines the value of giving to the community and the pleasure of discovering an amazing country with different and diverse cultures. The venture combines volunteering in schools in various villages across Tanzania or other African countries for a trip around the wonderful country for its spectacular scenery and pristine nature. how it all began? As part of my travels around Africa and especially in Tanzania, I came to less touristy places and was exposed to isolated villages. The warm welcome I received allowed me to get to know the lifestyles of the locals up close and so it happened that I was exposed to the difficult conditions that exist in the local educational institutions and to the understanding that help should be extended. Why join Travel with Rachel? The delegations combine the value of giving with the value of education and learning that have always been woven into my life, and their goal is to instill a spirit of change and hope in the hearts of the children and the educational staff of the school in which we operate. Try to imagine the amazing experience for the kids and the educational staff when a group of strangers come to them with their whole purpose being giving and love. Try to connect to the sense of value that you fill the members of the delegation after significant action and the real connection created between people and children despite all the differences – culture, customs and language. How does this happen in practice? After locating the school, there is a preparatory meeting between me and the local staff in which we formulate a two-week work plan – at the practical work level and of the content. Upon returning to Israel I begin to formulate the dedicated volunteer delegation and conduct personal interviews and suitability tests for the delegation. After the formation of the members of the delegation, a first conference is held in which I present the project and the tasks before us. The members of the delegation are divided into different work teams so that the preparatory work is already in the country and we arrive ready for two intensive weeks of work. The actual work includes renovating the existing buildings, adding additional spaces, restoring, painting and painting on the walls of the building and the classrooms all combined with creative sessions, games, singing and dancing spiced with a lot of love. And what if a little fun and freedom? And so, after two weeks of goals, missions and doing, we embark on a stage of vacation – a breathtaking safari in Tanzania, getting to know the amazing wildlife – and it all depends on the seasons, and Tanzania continues on a pampering vacation at the wonderful resorts on Zanzibar’s golden beaches. The project Volunteers and Travelers combines for me the important values ​​in my life – giving and education and my great love for Africa and its inhabitants.
